Why do Filipinos Love Asian Drama? Asian novellas are what’s in these days. They are shown on almost every local TV Channel, sold on DVD and VCD in stores to sidewalks. What do these Asian-novellas have that make them very popular to us Filipinos? Why do Filipinos love Asian Drama? As a watcher of Asian novellas myself, I have seen that it is easy for us Filipinos to relate and appreciate these Asian novellas because these are shows played by actors who are our co-Asians. Watching Asian actors give us a sense of being at home. Filipino TV viewers are, I think quite tired of the local tele-novellela’s usual plots, storylines twists, and actors. Our tele-novellas’ story flow often take lots of episodes before anything meaningful happens. We Filipinos are tired of the same actors that switch roles for every new tele-novella. New, Asian actors, plots and storylines are a break from the usual race and faces of tele-novellas. The new Asian novellas that have taken us by storm have rather complicated storylines which people enjoy very much because for once in their lives they can experience a non-clichà © novella. I myself find the storyline of different Asian novellas that I’ve watch at least for a short while very amusing. The storyline is always unexpected.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Fast-paced Asian-novellas are injected with very funny scenes that include clever situations, jokes and even funny faces. You will also be surprised that even though these shows are from other Asian countries, the experiences of the actors are not very far from our day-to-day experiences that we might have. Viewers of Asian-novellas can also grasp a few foreign words and terms from sub-titled Asian novellas. That would be enjoying and learning at the same time! . My favorite Asian novella so far is a K-drama (Korean Drama) entitled Ruler of Your Own World (ROYOW). Though it has the formula plot (fatal disease, love triangle), it has a very unique storyline. And the actors weren’t even good-looking. ROYOW just had the right actors mixed with an exciting storyline. Storylines are what people are after in dramas. You can have the same plot but have millions of storylines. This is sad to say what is lacking in Philippine television.

Method: 1. Put some soil in every beaker and make sure it is almost the same amount 2. Place 5 beans inside each beaker at the same level beneath the soil 3. Pour 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 ml of water in each beaker respectively and keep watering them every 2 days 4. Leave the beakers close to a good light source 5. After a week record the length of the stem of the plants in each beaker Variables: 1. Dependant: Height and growth of the plants 2. Independent: Amount of water 3. Controlled: Where the beakers are placed, amount of soil, amount of seeds, type of seeds, how often the plats are watered (Initially it was decided that the amount of water we would use would be 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 ml but we decided to lower the amount of water so that the plants wouldn’t drown) Results: amount of water (ml) Length of plants (cm) average length (cm)   Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Conclusion: The first thing we can see from the results is a boundary in the amount of water in relation with the beaker size and the amount of soil. In the table we can see that after the 20ml of water the seeds drowned and so they didn’t grew at all. But if we take in comparison the length of the plants in the beaker with 20ml with the one with 10ml we can see that with more water the germination takes place faster. For example in the results table we have the average growth of the plant of about 10. 5 cm and in the 20ml an average growth of 17. 8, so evidently we can say that the hight the amount of water, the faster the seeds will germinate and the higher they will grow. Evaluation: I think that in general this experiment was carried out fairly in terms of the type of seed, thay were kept in a well lit place, all the beakers had the same soil and the same amount of it, etc. The problem was that the plants were drowned so we couldn’t get a good set of results, so if he experiment had to be carried out again I would set a limit of water to allow the plants to actualy germinate.

A concert overture is played at a beginning of a concert and it is a one movement work in sonata form, and it is always program music. The cause of GuillainBarr syndrome (GBS) is the nerve dysfunction produced by the attack of immune system on the nerve cells of peripheral nervous system and its associated structures. Two major variants of GBS have been implicated in the different forms of immune attack. In one variant the white blood cells damage the myelin sheath due to the activation of the complement group of blood proteins. This is the demyelinating variant. Another variant is the axonal variant in which the cell membrane of the axon is damaged by IgG antibodies and complement without the direct involvement of lymphocytes (Hughes, 2012). As GBS is a post infectious syndrome, the infection and the specificity of the antibodies produced in response to the infection, partly determines the variant of GBS and its severity. There is production of cross reactive antibodies produced by molecular mimicry of antigens borne by the pathogens that bind to gangliosides. In molecular mimicry, the immune system is countering microbial substances causing infection but the antibodies produced also counter the natural substances present in the body. GM1, GD1a, GT1a, and GQ1b are some of the gangliosides against which antibodies have been produced. A variety of anti-ganglioside antibodies have been related with different features and not all of them cause the disease. Heterodimeric binding (simultaneous binding to more than one type of epitope) of the antibodies or the occurrence of other strains of bacteria in the bowel has been implicated recently in determining the response (Winer, 2011). 2. The diagnosis of GBS can be ascertained from findings such as fast progress of muscle paralysis and lack of reflexes. Cerebrospinal fluid (to check protein and white blood cells levels), nerve conduction, antiganglioside antibodies, blood tests (to check sodium and potassium levels), magnetic resonance imaging of the spinal cord, needle electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies are helpful examinations commonly done in the diagnosis of GBS. The direct assessment of nerve conduction of electrical impulses may be used to eliminate other reasons of acute muscle weakness and differentiate the various types of GBS (Yuki Hartung, 2012). The treatment options include immunotherapy, palliative treatment for pain and respiratory failure, and rehabilitation. Immunotherapy includes plasmapheresis and the administration of intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIg). Plasmapheresis sifts antibodies out of the bloodstream thereby decreasing their attack on the nervous system and IVIg neutralizes the harmful antibodies and inflammation. Palliative treatment for pain may be needed in some cases. However, more studies are needed to ascertain which medication should be used. Breathing support and intubation of the windpipe may be needed in cases with respiratory failure. Intensive rehabilitation is needed in most of the cases after the acute phase in order to improve the activities of daily living and long-term symptoms. This may be done by multidisciplinary teams including neurologists, rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, dieticians, social workers, other allied health professionals, an d nurses. Certain modifications at home, gait aids, orthotics and splints may be helpful.
