Fatima Hawkins Professor Amber Koeckritz CST 110 7 April 2016 Interpersonal Communication Film Analysis While any relationship can be difficult, romantic ones seem to be the most complicated. Interpersonal communication can be defined in many ways but is usually described as communication among those in a close relationship (Alberts 189). The Break Up is a perfect movie that will show examples of the definitions used. Individuals initiate relationships with those they see as attractive, while physical appearance is critical in forming a relationship so is a mental and the ability to communicate effectively. A lack of communication between two people that occurs for a long period of time will most likely result in a huge confrontation or a complete separation of the relationship. Developing effective communication is essential to maintaining a healthy relationship (Alberts 202). Feeling like one person does more than the other can lead to unnecessary arguments if one feels the other isn’t portraying active participation in the relationship enhancement. Another theory that comes to mind is Equity theory which argues that rather than focusing purely on rewards and costs, people are more interested in achieving fairness (Alberts 194). This theory helps explain that both people who are under benefitted and those who are over benefitted may feel dissatisfied with their relationship (Alberts 195). Comparing Pronto Musica Played Three Compositions By...

On March 10, 2016, a non-profit organization called Pronto Musica played three compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven. These three pieces include Overture Coriolan, Op. 62, Concerto for Piano, Violin and Violoncello in C major, Op. 56, which is also known as the Triple Concerto and Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93. For the Triple Concerto, the soloists included Philip Chu as the pianist, Axel Strauss as the violinist and Matt Haimovitz as the cellist. The concert was conducted by Alexis Hauser, the artistic director of the McGill Symphony Orchestra and of Pronto Musica. The instruments that comprise this chamber orchestra are first violins, second violins, violas, cellos, basses, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, French horns, trumpets†¦show more content†¦Beethoven wrote this to accompany a drama called Coriolan by Heinrich Joseph von Collin, in Vienna in the year 1807 (Viant, K. C. Coriolan Overture, Op. 62.). The drama is the same as the tragedy written by William Shakes peare. The genre for this piece would be a concert overture. A concert overture is played at a beginning of a concert and it is a one movement work in sonata form, and it is always program music. Program music is instrumental music that is associated with story and in this case, the story â€Å"examines the problem of deposing a bad ruler and the consequent civil unrest† (McConnell, L. Coriolanus.). The beginning of the piece starts with the strings, with the dynamics being mezzo forte. With the addition of the flutes, it sounds mezzo piano. Near the end, there are pizzicato, where the string instruments are plucked and the dynamics is in piano. The tempo of the piece is moderato overall. The beginning is more allegretto and near the end it is more adagio. The key of this piece is in C minor. Since this is an overture, the piece was around ten minutes. The second piece sounded more unique since there were soloists. The Triple Concerto. It was composed in 1803 and it was the only concerto Beethoven composed with more than one soloist. This is one of the longer pieces and continued for approximately 40 minutes. Cause of Guillain–Barre Syndrome

Question: Discuss about the Cause of GuillainBarre Syndrome. Answer: Introduction: 1. The cause of GuillainBarr syndrome (GBS) is the nerve dysfunction produced by the attack of immune system on the nerve cells of peripheral nervous system and its associated structures. Two major variants of GBS have been implicated in the different forms of immune attack. In one variant the white blood cells damage the myelin sheath due to the activation of the complement group of blood proteins. This is the demyelinating variant. Another variant is the axonal variant in which the cell membrane of the axon is damaged by IgG antibodies and complement without the direct involvement of lymphocytes (Hughes, 2012). As GBS is a post infectious syndrome, the infection and the specificity of the antibodies produced in response to the infection, partly determines the variant of GBS and its severity. There is production of cross reactive antibodies produced by molecular mimicry of antigens borne by the pathogens that bind to gangliosides. In molecular mimicry, the immune system is countering microbial substances causing infection but the antibodies produced also counter the natural substances present in the body. GM1, GD1a, GT1a, and GQ1b are some of the gangliosides against which antibodies have been produced. A variety of anti-ganglioside antibodies have been related with different features and not all of them cause the disease. Heterodimeric binding (simultaneous binding to more than one type of epitope) of the antibodies or the occurrence of other strains of bacteria in the bowel has been implicated recently in determining the response (Winer, 2011). 2. The diagnosis of GBS can be ascertained from findings such as fast progress of muscle paralysis and lack of reflexes. Cerebrospinal fluid (to check protein and white blood cells levels), nerve conduction, antiganglioside antibodies, blood tests (to check sodium and potassium levels), magnetic resonance imaging of the spinal cord, needle electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies are helpful examinations commonly done in the diagnosis of GBS. The direct assessment of nerve conduction of electrical impulses may be used to eliminate other reasons of acute muscle weakness and differentiate the various types of GBS (Yuki Hartung, 2012). The treatment options include immunotherapy, palliative treatment for pain and respiratory failure, and rehabilitation. Immunotherapy includes plasmapheresis and the administration of intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIg). Plasmapheresis sifts antibodies out of the bloodstream thereby decreasing their attack on the nervous system and IVIg neutralizes the harmful antibodies and inflammation. Palliative treatment for pain may be needed in some cases. However, more studies are needed to ascertain which medication should be used. Breathing support and intubation of the windpipe may be needed in cases with respiratory failure. Intensive rehabilitation is needed in most of the cases after the acute phase in order to improve the activities of daily living and long-term symptoms. This may be done by multidisciplinary teams including neurologists, rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, dieticians, social workers, other allied health professionals, an d nurses. Certain modifications at home, gait aids, orthotics and splints may be helpful.
